The Lizard Peninsula

Nestled down a quiet road and on the door step of the picturesque village of Gunwalloe, the Cottages are sat on the most southerly peninsula in the UK, the Lizard.

The peninsula is an exposed upland landscape, with areas of open downs and associated heathland. It's steeped with secluded sandy coves, rolling hills and rugged coastal paths; the south west coastal path can be accessed at Gunwalloe (1.5 miles). Close by Church Cove is an enchanting, family friendly beach, full of mystery with rumored secret paths that smugglers used in days gone by.

Situated within easy access to many of the county's main roads the cottages are an ideal base to explore Cornwall. There is so much to keep you on the go, breathtaking coastal walks, Flambards, days out and activities on the River Fal, visits to the Eden project, Falmouth or the Tate at St Ives. Shopping, visiting the lost gardens of Heligan or going underground at Poldark mine… and after all of that there are many fantastic bistros, pubs and cafes nearby.

Cornwall isn't just for the warmer months. If you visit out of season you’ll experience the most dramatic scenery. In spring the hedgerows are overflowing with wildflowers and through autumn and winter the sea crashes furiously against the rocks.
